She dipped a scrub brush into the cleaning fluid and stroked the bedroom wall in wide, arched swipes. Although concentrating on the task at hand, Sadie tried not to ignore the person behind her.

"It's just not fair," he whined.

"Jacob, we've been over this a dozen times since yesterday,"Sadie stated evenly and brought the dripping scrub brush up once more. "Talking about it won't change what happened. What you created. You made your bed and now you must lie in it, so to speak."

"That's not funny."
